A Hip New Mixed Media Doll card

My mom is having her hip replaced.  It is hitting me pretty hard; it took me most of this year to finally accept that she is "officially" a senior citizen.  Now she needs a new hip???  NO WAY!  She's way too young for that!!!

So, my Peeps, I handle it like most everything else that comes my way.... with humor.  You needed the back-story to fully appreciate the card. So there it is.  Forgive me Mummy for outing your surgery, but the more prayers the better, don'tcha think?

I used one of my two Julie Nutting doll stamps.  This is my first attempt at a "mixed media doll" and I just LOVE HER!!!  The real lace at the bottom of her skirt just made me fall head over heels.  I'm already plotting a layout using one (both, or maybe getting a third????) of my doll stamps on it.

(Yes I did stamp the skirt in three different directions to keep it from being all one-dimensional!  And while it is a single layer, I had to stamp the shirt three times to get one that had the "right" pattern of roses.)

And the sentiment is a pop-up.... which makes it even more fun!

Ohhhh Emmmmm Geeeee! I HEART her! Seriously so much that I want a doll stamp, but then I realize I'd never use it! So thinking maybe if I tell you how much I HEART her, you'll send me a card with one!!!! You did a perfect job with her! Hope your mom is bouncing back quickly with the new hip!

    About Me

Scrapbooking is the self-medicating therapy I use to deal withthe stresses of  being a slightly less-than adequate housewife, mom of a pre-teen, and full-time laborer with great responsibilities but no real power.

So I take pictures of things in my life and tell funny stories about the memories and immortalize them forever in with various artforms into my scrapbook.
