While looking at my sad little Charlie Brown tree this year, I became obsessed with a strand of beads that Miss Thing had put on it. They were those cheap plastic strands that you get. They sure did dress up the tree though.
Then I got thinking... Wouldn't GLASS beads be SO much prettier? I couldn't get the idea out of my head, so I bought some pre-Christmas at Michael's. I had intended to wait until after the Holidays to start it, but with Miss Thing stringing one end and me the other, it goes pretty fast. So by the end of Christmas Day, we had a 30 foot strand ready for the tree.
I liked them so much, I ordered some more from Fire Mountain Gems. They showed up Wednesday and they are just gorgeous!!! So this is strand 2 in process. I think 4 strands will deck out any tree that we have, and I am thinking that these will make wonderful Christmas gifts. I also made another snowflake. I could probably do my whole tree with these one year, but I'd miss the sock monkey and Pillsbury Doughboy....
