So this is Nala. She "belongs" to Miss Thing, but we all love her. And she was plenty squeaky in the beginning... wild, not coming when called, running off every chance she got. And then there was the time that she was run over by a car and broke three bones in her hip, back, and tail... and when those healed, she started walking on the top of one of her back legs and we had to keep her in a brace. And then she got all better, slipped off her chain and ran right back into the road. But with age comes wisdom, and Nala has turned into an OK dog.
She likes to wait until Miss Thing falls asleep and then jumps up on her bed and sleeps there. Unless it is thundering.... and then she abandons "her" nice warm bed and comes and sleeps on the floor by me.... which irrates both her owner and my husband, who thinks that he should be the dog's hero.... "Why does she think that YOU can protect her better than ME?"
So this is our dog. She might not have any pedigree or disernable breeding.... but she loves us and keeps our back stoop chicken-free.
